El vicio anuncia las revoluciones,
se deja ver en la pederastía,
vulgar preludio de otra sinfonía
heroica: tales son sus condiciones

preliminares. Tal es la agonía
de un mundo que desmiente sus ficciones
para buscar, despierto, sensaciones
dolorosas que antes no sentía.

Toda ciudad conserva en sus rincones
la marca de esa antigua rebeldía,
la prueba de que ya la conocía
antes de arder en cívicas pasiones.

Así por el camino de Sodoma
el mismo caminante llega a Roma.

the selfsame traveler arrives at Rome.
