Néstor Díaz de Villegas
nació en 1956 en Cumanayagua, Cuba. Estudió pintura en la
Academia de San Alejandro. Desde 1979 reside en los Estados Unidos. Es
columnista de El Nuevo Herald y colaborador de la revista Encuentro.
Sus obras de poesía incluyen Vicio de Miami, Confesiones
del Estrangulador de Flagler Street, y Anarquía en Disneylandia.
El Marqués de Sade es el personaje histórico a partir del cual Néstor Díaz de Villegas construye una secuencia de sonetos donde retoma sus temas favoritos: la Revolución, el libertinaje, el relajo con orden, la comedia del Arte, el gran teatro del mundo y el eterno retorno de lo mismo. Por el camino de Sade / Sade’s Way se denominó “Mejor Libro de Poesía del 2004“ por los Latino Book Awards / Latino Book and Family Festival. The person of the Marquis de Sade serves as the foundation for a cycle of sonnets in which the poet Néstor Díaz de Villegas revisits his best-loved themes: revolution, libertinism, chaos within order, the comedy of art, the world as a stage, and the eternal return of the Same.
